Lovill House Inn

Position Description: 

The historic Lovill House Inn Bed and Breakfast seeks a new Innkeeper to join its ranks! Lovill House is an eco-conscious boutique bed and breakfast focused on providing sustainable luxury and top-tier customer service to its guests. As an Innkeeper at Lovill House Inn, you will join a small but mighty team of driven, customer-oriented innkeepers and housekeepers who strive towards sustainability in their work. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Previous experience with housekeeping/cleaning and cooking experience 
• Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate, read, and write in English 
• Ability to provide excellent customer service 
• Ability to manage time effectively and juggle multiple tasks at once 
• Servsafe Food Manager Certification (may be acquired following on-boarding) 
   

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Previous experience in a hotel or bed and breakfast 
• Additional skills, such as social media management, gardening and yardwork, handy-person work, etc. are also beneficial to the position 
• Experience with booking engines, such as ResNexus, and Online Travel Agents, (e.g. Booking.com, AirBNB, etc)
• Marketing experience especially social media 
   

Responsibilities: 

• Make from-scratch breakfast for groups of 6-8 individually, and up to 20 with assistance and various events throughout the year
• Includes preparation for following day and thorough cleaning of the kitchen 
• Clean and prepare rooms for guests, as well as common areas, including the living room, dining room, porch and grounds 
• Answer phones and take reservations, as well as handle other administrative duties as needed, such as: 
• Menu and recipe development 
• Creating staff weekly schedule 
• Answer guest inquiries via email or online booking platforms 
• Assisting with marketing efforts
• Check guests in and out of rooms, including providing a historical tour of the Inn 
• Deliver high quality customer service to guests and potential guests 
• Other duties as assigned 
   

About the Work Environment: 

As a small bed and breakfast with 6 rooms and a 2-bedroom cabin, our staff is small and tight-knit. We are looking for someone with a positive and collaborative demeanor who is willing to work hard and have fun while doing it. While we are focused on teamwork, innkeepers also experience independence in the role and may find themselves working alone at the inn on some days.
