Time-Limited Communications Specialist Role

 

We are looking for an individual or student interested in using their communications skills on a time-limited basis with a local nonprofit agency! 

 

Who:  The Watauga Housing Council, a 501c3 nonprofit agency;

What:  The individual hired will adapt & update a housing resource list with information & links to High Country Community Housing Partners & other housing resources on the WHC’s website, update other key website information & assist with social media.  Key skills include familiarity & use of the WIX platform, CANVA, and Facebook/Instagram;

Where:  We are looking for an individual who is remaining in Watauga over the summer, and who has reliable transportation to meet with partners and WHC members.  Other tasks may be completed remotely.  Tasks include talking with housing partners in person, by phone and by email who are located in Watauga & Ashe counties, having regular in-person supervisory meetings with the WHC Executive Director, & coordinating content/uploads with the WHC Communications Chair & WHC Chair.

When:  We would like the individual to be hired for an anticipated 50 hour & up to 70 hours’ of work;
 
Why:  We want to provide a housing resource list to all of the community that can be easily accessed (& updated), with links to our High Country Community Housing Partners–this is an interest voiced by our housing partners!; 

Rate of Pay:  $20/hour for 5-10 hours per week.
