Chamber To Offer Two Business Communication Workshops
Businesses of all scopes and sizes spend countless hours refining their inventory. Whether those companies sell goods or provide a service, the time spent evaluating how to meet market trends ensures customers are provided the products they demand.
In today’s business climate there are many opportunities to efficiently reach every generation through practical communication. With over 20 years of invaluable knowledge, Ritchie Public Speaking, has partnered with the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce to deliver two comprehensive workshops in early September that help executives and sales staff tackle some of the fundamental aspects of effective communication.
Developing Your Executive Voice (September 4th) focuses management-level employees on properly analyzing their audience and creating effective introductions that will help an audience maintain interest. This course also delves into overcoming anxiety and confidence challenges when it comes to public speaking, offering suggestions and tactics that can help one overcome this very common obstacle.
Communicate Your Sale (September 5th) speaks to front-line staff on the importance of interpersonal communication when dealing with customers. This course examines non-verbal communication, creating proper tone and energy, and choosing a professional vocabulary that portrays a business to its customers in a proper way.
Ritchie Public Speaking founder and owner, Lisa Ritchie, has instructed communication at the college level for the past decade. Her experience in the business sector, as well as the academic arena, has helped hundreds of individuals learn how to reach their audiences through effective and poignant communication skills. Ritchie is an expert in understanding and teaching how the different generations communicate with one another.
Each course will be offered from 8:30am-1:30pm at the Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton in Boone. Cost is $79 for Boone Area Chamber of Commerce members and $89 for non-members, and covers meeting materials, snacks, and lunch.
“Investing in fine-tuning your message can be the difference between a good year and a great year for many businesses,” said David Jackson, President/CEO of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce. “Whether it is a CEO searching for efficiency when delivering a business elevator speech or an associate that brings appropriate energy and vocabulary to the sales floor, how we communicate with customers is not only a short-term step in creating a business relationship, but winning these moments can provide the long-term customer loyalty we all desire.”
