Super-Panel of Local Experts Address COVID-19 Vaccine Questions
The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce offered community members an opportunity to gain insight on the COVID-19 vaccine from local experts during a free panel event held virtually on January 12th, 2021.
The super-panel was formed as Watauga County prepares to move into Phase 1B of North Carolina's COVID-19 vaccination plan, featuring representatives from Representatives from AppHealthCare, Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, Blue Ridge Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, Boone Drug, Inc, and Watauga County Schools.
The 90 minute forum addressed over 30 questions from community members, some of which were elicited prior to the event while others were asked in realtime by moderator David Jackson, BACC President/CEO. Topics ranged from local vaccine deployment and distribution to clinical considerations and contraindications. More details on the event from the Watauga Democrat can be found here.
