Watauga Economic Development Commission To Hold Its May Meeting in Seven Devils

BOONE, NC – The Watauga County Economic Development Commission will hold its next meeting Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 1pm-2:30pm at Seven Devils Town Hall, located at 157 Seven Devils Rd in Seven Devils, NC. The meeting is open to the public.

This stands as the fourth meeting for the newly appointed Watauga EDC, and the first in a municipality outside of Boone or Blowing Rock.

This meeting agenda will include a presentation from Watauga EDC member Matthew Dockham on strategic priorities and current building projects at Appalachian State University. Joe Furman, Director of Economic Development for the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce, will update the group on various activities related to the conversation around housing.

The group will officially welcome Virginia Wallace back to the Watauga EDC. She will fill the position vacated by Dan Meyer, who is moving out of the area. A member of the Watauga EDC prior to its reorganization, Wallace was re-appointed as an at-large member to the board by the Watauga County Commissioners at their meeting May 2nd.
