Chamber Welcomes Dr. Heather Norris as Interim Chancellor at App State; Salutes Dr. Sheri Everts

On her final day as Chancellor, the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Dr. Sheri Everts for her near decade-long service to Appalachian State University. We hope she is able to take full advantage of the opportunity to concentrate on improving her health. Chancellor Everts was a frequent speaker and guest at Chamber functions over the years, and we appreciate her support of our organization during her tenure.

 
We are excited to welcome Dr. Heather Norris to the role of Interim Chancellor. From her days as a classroom professor to her appointment as Dean of the Walker College of Business, Dr. Norris shaped many of the faculty and student relationships that local businesses have come to depend on, always focusing on “Business for Good.”  She served as a Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Board member before earning her promotion to the post of Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at App State in 2020.

 
We are looking forward to working with Dr. Norris and the Appalachian State community as they continue this transition of leadership. The University and surrounding community have grown together over the past century, and we look forward to supporting our Summit Partner in this next chapter.
