"STABLE Workplaces is an initiative that includes a number of local partners who are aiming to provide staff training and business leadership for evolving workplaces," said David Jackson, President/CEO of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce. "Over the last year and a half, we've been part of a coalition that includes AppHealthCare, OASIS, NCWorks, the High Country Workforce Development Board, and numerous small businesses throughout Watauga County. Our discussion has centered around workplace culture and how that plays into retention and recruitment of a robust workforce that feels positioned for professional success in an environment where its also clear they are supported by their employers. This grant will help solidify the foundation of this effort and assist us in deploying assets to businesses and employees in a way that will be useful as get this initiative started in 2024."
