EVENT UPDATE!

Due to a forecast that is not cooperating with the typical “Chamber of Commerce weather” experience, Thursday’s Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership Meeting is being relocated to The Appalachian Theatre of the High Country in Downtown Boone.

The event will still operate on the exact same schedule with doors opening at 4:30PM and our program starting at 6:30PM.

Parking Update:
  • Parking will be available in the Peacock Lot at Appalachian State University, and other adjacent campus lots, beginning at 5PM.
  • Town of Boone controlled parking lots will now be available at 4:45PM, with the Town Hall and the Queen Street lots being the closest in proximity to the theatre.
  • First Baptist of Boone has graciously offered their parking lots as well, on a first come basis beginning at 4:30PM.

The Taste of Boone Food Village and beverage stations will be available throughout the Appalachian Theatre, and all elements of the program that were planned for the outdoor version of this presentation will take place as scheduled.

We can’t thank the teams at the Southern Appalachian Historical Association (SAHA) and the Appalachian Theatre enough for their swift work and cooperation to allow for this change to occur,” said David Jackson, President/CEO of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce. “It’s not what we planned for initially, but the spirit of community partnership we’ve experienced since we’ve started discussions about these changes will lead to a fantastic event by the time we drop the final curtain."

As part of the Town of Boone’s ongoing Sesquicentennial festivities, the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates the businesses and individuals that worked to create this unique mountain community during its 73rd Annual Membership Meeting, Thursday, Aug. 11, from 4:30-8 p.m., at The Appalachian Theatre of the High Country. 

The Annual Meeting is presented by First Horizon Bank with additional event support from Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, Creekside Electronics, Greene Construction, Peak Insurance Group, and Spangler Restoration.

Tickets are $75 and includes:

  • Access to the Taste of Boone Food Village featuring signature dishes from some of the community's long-standing restaurants.

  • Two (2) drink tickets with option to purchase additional.

  • Opportunity to network with anticipated audience of over 400 business leaders and guests.

In a show of thanks to our previous hosts, we will be donating a portion of the event proceeds to the Southern Appalachian Historical Society, to help them maintain the Daniel Boone Amphitheater and Horn in the West, one of North Carolina’s most iconic tourism destinations.

As we use our Annual Membership Meeting to celebrate the Town of Boone’s 150th Birthday, remember this event also serves as the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce's largest fundraiser of the year, enabling us to continue to advocate on behalf of our nearly 750 members.
