Professional Bio
Dr. Sandy Vannoy grew up on a farm beside the New River in Watauga County. She holds an undergraduate degree in finance and a MBA from Appalachian State University, as well as a PhD in Information Systems from UNC-Greensboro.
After a number of years working in the financial services and technology industries, Vannoy became a member of the faculty at Appalachian State in the department of computer information systems and supply chain management in the Walker College of Business. She currently serves as associate dean for graduate programs and research in the Walker College where she oversees a number of research initiatives, the MBA, MS in Applied Data Analytics, and Honors programs, and recently established a Professional Education initiative designed to bring innovative educational experiences to the regional business community.
Vannoy was drawn to service on the Boone Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors due to its commitment to education, economic expansion, and job growth in the surrounding community.
