Professional Bio
Ethan Dodson joined the Chamber Team in August, 2024 on a part time basis. His fundraising role grew dramatically after Hurricane Helene struck the High Country and the need arose to coordinate these efforts.
After spending his formative years in Blowing Rock, Ethan began his fundraising career in 2008 at the University of Virginia. He also worked at NC State University before moving back to the area in 2015 to work at Appalachian State University. His work has focused on major gifts, annual giving, board development, and fundraising strategy.
A two-time graduate of Appalachian State, Ethan holds a M.A. In Higher Education Administration, a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with minors in English and Political Science. He was a member of the Appalachian Ambassadors and the Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
Ethan resides in Blowing Rock with his wife Allison and their daughter Amelia.
