Town Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
Tweetsie Railroad’s Town Manager must be a dependable, responsible, team-oriented individual with high energy and a passion for delivering the highest level of customer service to all guests. This person must be willing to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced environment. Tweetsie Railroad is open roughly 130 operating days and would be required to be available those days and the position requires weekend and holiday availability, as well as some nights.

The Town Manager has the responsibility of overseeing all the park’s daily operations. The Town Manager’s functions include administration, working with local police and fire for special events, sanitation, landscaping, water/sewer, electrical, storm water, and planning/construction for new improvements within the park. The ideal candidate will be able to connect and communicate with all levels of the organization and community. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader, able to quickly assess options and offer solutions. The Town Manager will work indoors and outdoors to fulfill administrative duties and engage with staff and customers. The Town Manager should demonstrate the additional skills:

  • Ability to effectively plan, supervise and coordinate the daily operations, personnel, and functions of a municipal operation within Tweetsie Railroad;
  • Ability to develop and implement municipal policies and procedures;
  • Ability to review and analyze current policies, practices, and procedures, identifying problem areas or necessary changes;
  • Ability to prepare and present comprehensive oral and written reports;
  • Ability to deal courteously with the guest;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, outside agencies, and the general public.

Reports to the Tweetsie Railroad President

Qualifications Desired
Bachelor’s degree required in either tourism, hospitality, marketing or business and a minimum of 5 years working experience in a Town Manager role.


Ride Operations Supervisor 

Duties and Responsibilities
The Ride Operations Supervisor is responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling all ride operators, and ride operator support staff, works with the Ride Quality and Safety Supervisor and Director of Engineering to ensure that ride operator training is thorough, concise, up to date and that all safety, mechanical, operational, daily maintenance, or any other issues are communicated and documented timely and accurately to Engineering and Management. The Ride Operations Supervisor will ensure a safe and fun experience for our guests and delegates personnel to keep all ride areas safe, neat, and clear of any trash and debris.

Duties:

  • Oversees and ensures the safe and efficient operation of all amusement ride and guest transportation equipment.
  • Excels at guest relations and responsible for handling guest issues concerning rides, transportation equipment, personnel, or any other issue.
  • Works closely with Ride Quality and Safety Supervisor and Director of Engineering to ensure communication of any safety or maintenance issues from the ride operators to the Engineering Department.
  • Works with Ride Quality and Safety Supervisor and Director of Engineering to ensure that ride operators are properly trained with the priorities being safety, guest satisfaction, and proper maintenance and operation of rides.
  • Assists Ride Quality and Safety Supervisor with and/or asserts ride closures due to unforeseen problems, unsafe circumstances, or general maintenance for any ride or transportation equipment and notifies Engineering Department, Ticket Office, and Tweetsie Railroad management appropriately.
  • Assists Ride Quality and Safety Supervisor entering all maintenance schedules, inventory changes, additions, photos, and safety procedures into company-chosen maintenance systems.
  • Assists and advises Ride Quality and Safety Supervisor and Director of Engineering to ensure maintenance programs are monitored and modified as needed to incorporate changes in ride operation, behaviors, or mechanical indications.
  • Monitors all ride reports daily, ensures their accuracy, and forwards them in a timely and consistent manner to Engineering and Administration for recordkeeping.
  • Keeps all ride areas free of spare parts and as much out of view of guests as possible; keeps ride areas neat, clean, free of clutter and debris.
  • Fully knowledgeable of Lockout/Tagout procedures and utilizes them when necessary.
  • Always provides a safe work environment.
  • Performs other relevant tasks as assigned by Director of Engineering


Qualifications Desired
Education and/or Experience. High School diploma or equivalent; or more than 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
