Tickets On Sale For 68th Annual Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Meeting

BOONE, NC – Tickets are on sale for the 68th annual membership meeting of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce. The event takes place from 5-8pm, Thursday August 3, 2017, at the Holmes Convocation Center on the campus of Appalachian State University. The event is presented by Skyline/Skybest and dinner is provided by Red Moon Catering.

A networking and welcome reception will take place from 5-6:15pm on the Holmes Center concourse with various experiential silent auction items available for bid. Dinner is served on the floor level of the arena beginning at 6:15 pm with the annual presentation and awards ceremony to conclude by 8pm.

“While our fiscal year begins in July, the Annual Meeting feels like the start to the new chamber year,” said Boone Area Chamber of Commerce President David Jackson. “We’ve had an exciting year at the chamber and we will recap that story for our membership. We also look forward to unveiling our plan moving forward for 2017-18. The more we communicate our vision the better we feel chamber members can further realize and maximize the value of being involved with our organization.”

The meeting will serve as the public installation of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Jonathan Lubkemann, Market President with BB&T in Boone, will be introduced as the Chairman of the Board for the 2017-18 year. The 2017 class of the Watauga Leadership Challenge will also be recognized for their completion of the chamber’s leadership development program.

Nominations are being sought for seven community awards that are presented at the annual meeting each year. They include the Alfred Adams Award for Economic Development, the Ben Suttle Special Services Award for Volunteer Leadership, the Sue W. Wilmoth Award for the Advancement of Tourism, the Dan Meyer Partnership Award, and the everGREEN Award for Leadership in Sustainability. Nomination forms are available for download here.

Tickets for the annual meeting are $30 dollars for Boone Area Chamber of Commerce members and $45 for non-members. Corporate table sponsorships are available for $350 and include reserved seating for eight guests along with sponsor recognition at the event. 2017 Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Program Partners will receive reserved seating for up to ten guests as a part of their annual benefit.
