With Memorial Day Weekend just around the corner, crowds will flock to Downtown Boone to visit one of the quintessential mainstreet districts in all of North Carolina. Tracy Schindler recently relocated a business to the area from deep in the heart of Texas, and she shares the story of the creation of Something Else Gifts on this week’s Mind Your Business, a weekly radio program produced in partnership between the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and High Country Radio.

Schindler discusses her decision to relocate to the Boone area and gives listeners a full rundown of her inventory. Something Else Gifts features a full array of repurposed items that have been transformed into “must haves” for every room in the house. She also explains the process for customers that would like a consult on what it takes to turn that family treasure into a permanent keepsake.

The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting for Something Else Gifts, Friday, June 2nd, from 4-6pm, in conjunction with the monthly First Friday Art Crawl. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place around 5:15pm. Parking in the Downtown Boone area is free after 5pm Friday, and parking is free in the nearby Peacock Hall parking lot on the Appalachian State campus beginning at 5pm.
