When a new business opens its doors in the High Country, the grand opening can take on the look of a week-long celebration..

Last week, Publix at Three Creeks opened its doors on Blowing Rock Rd in Boone and has enjoyed a steady flow of curious customers and loyal shoppers. Kim Reynolds, Media and Public Relations Manager discussed the store’s opening week and plans for further community involvement on this week’s Mind Your Business, a weekly radio program produced in partnership between the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and High Country Radio.

In business as a company for nearly 90-years, Publix has a track record of partnering with local non-profits and other agencies in the communities they serve. Already those philanthropic roots are being planted in the Boone market..

“We’re just always looking to grow those relationships,” said Reynolds. “It happens before we open and the process continues after we open as well. We hope people feel free to stop by and connect with Joel Wise, our store manager. If you are a local non-profit, we are happy to see if there is a way that we can partner. Our charitable focus is youth, education, and the plight of the hungry and homeless.”

Mind Your Business is a weekly production of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce. The program highlights chamber members and allows for a deeper conversation about their history, impact on the community, and upcoming events. Tune in each Thursday at 10am for Mind Your Business on WATA (AM1450/96.5FM).
