High Country Breast Cancer Foundation featured on Mind Your Business

No matter who you are or where you are from, odds are you have a close friend or relative that has been impacted by cancer. Over the years, the High Country community has stood second to none in helping provide support and encouragement to those fighting all varieties of cancer, while also rallying survivors and volunteers to provide valuable support to those new to the fight. Cancer survivor Irene Sawyer speaks about her journey to Boone and how she came to help create the High Country Breast Cancer Foundation on this week’s Mind Your Business a weekly radio program produced in partnership between the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and High Country Radio.

The organization hosts an annual 5K run/walk that helps raise funds to continue to support local efforts. They’ve also created a network of survivors and volunteers that are able to assist current patients with any aspect of their fight, from financial support to just simply connecting with someone who understands their journey.
