Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and Young Professionals of Boone To Form Partnership

The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and Young Professionals of Boone announce the formation of a strategic partnership between the two organizations aimed at fostering further growth in the local business community.

Young Professionals of Boone was established in 2009 to increase the involvement of its membership in economic development efforts within the community. The group uses social and business networking to assist with the recruitment and retention of young professionals in the local business culture.

The partnership will allow all participants with Young Professionals of Boone to gain member-level access to networking events hosted by the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce. The two organizations will also seek to form projects that can benefit one another.

The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce will host a 4 Under 40 awards luncheon May 17th, highlighting four members of the local business community that have achieved a measure of success in their business path prior to the age of 40-years-old. Young Professionals of Boone is actively recruiting its participants to join a member-to-member networking exchange set to begin in April.

“Our area has been fortunate to have from benefited generations of steadfast leadership in our local business community,” said David Jackson, President/CEO of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce. “Much of the growth around the Boone area can be traced back to the foresight of smart businessmen and women that had the community’s best interests in mind during the formative years. As some of those influencers are beginning to transition away from their day-to-day work, we are looking at this partnership as an important step in fostering the next generation of local leadership. By networking and becoming more intentional with relationship building, we can ensure the lessons learned over decades of growth can be passed along to the next group of capable community stewards.”

“Young Professionals is excited to work in conjunction with the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce,” said board member Tyler Moffatt.  “We have such cohesive goals of helping both long-time residents of the High Country as well as newer folks to the area access and support all of the wonderful aspects that our community offers. Boone is a treasure trove of creative and giving individuals that enhance the beauty that already surrounds us through engaging individuals and businesses. YP is growing to make this connection through the opportunity for businesses to become sponsors and helping create a natural pathway between our members and their companies.”
