Last night we celebrated the groundbreaking of the Horton Hotel, the new chic addition to downtown King Street that will open later this year. Reid’s Cafe catered the event, with heavy hors d’oeuvres, while Maureen Renihan Music performed jazz. The evening was a taste of what the Horton promises to be; a modern take on a classic building with a relaxed feeling. 75+ people were in attendance, and the evening culminated in Fulton and Denise Lovin knocking an axe into the wall, the official beginning of construction on the new hotel. The Horton will have 18 rooms, a lounge, and a rooftop bar once construction is completed. We can’t wait to see how this project will transform downtown Boone!
