First Round Of Presenters Announced For WLC Insight Night Series

Five experienced leaders totaling over 160 years of executive experience highlight the first round of presenters for the Watauga Leadership Challenge Insight Night Series, a leadership development forum organized by the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce.

Four sessions will be held over the summer, matching current or aspiring top-level local leaders with established leaders representing a wide array of business interests. Sessions will be held from 5:30-8pm in the showroom at Creekside Electronics on the following dates:June 28th, July 26th,  August 23rd, and September 27th.

The initial group of presenters includes:

  • Bobby Biggerstaff, Entrepreneur, Founder of Key Risk Management Services
  • Tim Hilton, Former Owner-CEO, Charlotte Handling, LLC
  • Bobby Martin, Co-Founder Vertical IQ, Author of The Hockey Stick Principles
  • Richard Sparks, Retired CEO Appalachian Regional Healthcare System
  • Will Webb, Executive Director, Charlotte Sports Foundation
  • S. Miller Williams, Board Member, Willbros Group, Inc.

Additional presenters will be added to the lineup over the coming weeks. Based on schedule availability of all presenters the lineup is subject to change.

Each session will include a panel of two CEOs who will provide their career origin stories, experiences, and advice to those seeking higher professional aspirations. There will be opportunity for Q&A with the panelists as well as networking within the group of local professionals.

“Our local economy is fueled by businesses of all types and sizes and our first group of announced presenters will have experiences to share that will land with everyone in the room,” said Boone Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO David Jackson. “These leaders all started with a career vision that match the interests of several of our aspiring local influencers. They’ve also faced both opportunities and challenges as top-level executives that will certainly resonate with our well-established local leaders. We are excited to introduce our participants to a mix of individuals that can provide career affirmation as well as motivation at the same time.”

The Insight Night series is the latest addition to the chamber’s Watauga Leadership Challenge brand, a community leadership development initiative with programs designed to spark career growth in a wide variety of fields and experience levels.

Each event will include heavy hors d’oeuvres and snacks along with select craft beer from local breweries. Cost is $250 per registrant, which covers the entire series.
