The captain’s choice event was broken into three flights based on reported handicaps.

Jason Eldreth, Joe Stanton, John Malone, and Roscoe Millsaps won Flight 1 with a gross score of 55.

Edward Hinson, Tony Golembesky, Trey Oakley, and Stella Logan won Flight 2 with a gross score of 56.

Joe Frank, Will Walker, Bobby Idol, and Kelly Hartford won Flight 3 with a gross score of 58.

The team of Gary Moss, Danny Wilcox, Tommy Miller, and John Cornett was awarded the overall tournament victory with the lowest gross score (53) collected on the day.

The day of great golf was complemented by the support of Publix, Modern Ford of Boone, and Appalachian Mountain Brewing Company, who served as beverage sponsors. The field of 108 participants enjoyed time to network and socialize during a special post golf reception, presented by Nationwide Insurance – Chuck Eyler & Associates.

Prior to the round, over 50 participants took aim at a 55-foot put during a 50/50 putting contest. Four golfers seeing their attempt lip out of the cup, but no participants sank the winning shot. Therefore all the earnings were awarded to W.A.M.Y. Community Action to assist their efforts in providing the disadvantaged with the support and tools they need to become self-sufficient.
